What is the Most Popular Cocktail?
Using Google Search Data, the most popular cocktail in the UK is the Margarita. This follows from Google Search Engine Data analysing over 80 different search results across over 30 different cocktails.
What is a Margarita?
A Margarita is a cocktail that consists of tequila, triple sec and some lime juice. You may find some simple syrup mixed in there too. More often than not, bartenders add some salt around the rim of the glass, accompanied by a lime-wedge.
How we found out
This does not mean that the Margarita is the most sold cocktail in the UK, but it does mean it’s the most searched for. We used tools provided by Google to see what cocktails are the most relevant. Taking a dive into various cocktails by searching for terms such as ‘Margarita Recipe’, ‘Margarita Ingredients’ and ‘How to make a Margarita,’ we were able to make a database of the average number of searches per month. This resulted in about 500,000 total searches across the 39 cocktails we selected, and over 80 search terms. Compiling this data allowed us to find the most popular cocktails.
