Bloody Mary
This Halloween Cocktail contains vodka, tomato juice and some spices. Whilst the cocktail itself was not made for Halloween, its name is rather spooky, and its red appearance make it seem almost as if were!
Ingredients (per cocktail)
- Ice
- 50ml Vodka
- 250ml Tomato Juice
- ½ teaspoon of Lemon Juice (and a lemon slice to garnish)
- Some Worcestershire Sauce
- Some Tabasco
- A pinch of Celery Salt (and a stick of celery to garnish)
- A pinch of pepper
Recipe
Step 1 - Put some Ice, the Vodka, Tomato Juice and Lemon juice into a mixer (or straight into the glass if you don’t have one).
Step 2 - Add about 3 shakes of Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco. If you’d like a bit more spice, add a little bit of each. Add a pinch of celery salt and pepper and shake (or stir) well.
Step 3 - Strain the shaker into the glass (if drink is not already in the glass). Top up with fresh ice. Add a celery stick and a lemon slice to garnish.
Step 4 - Serve to your happy party guest!
Halloween Margarita
This Halloween Margarita is bright green to help get in the mood for the Halloween spirit. A lot of Halloween Margaritas may involve food colouring or dry ice in some way (which can enhance a drink), but this simple Halloween cocktail switches out the Tequila you find in Margaritas with a Bright Green Melon Liqueur. You can learn more about the classic margarita in this article!
Ingredients (Per Cocktail)
- 40ml Tequila
- 35ml Midori Melon Liqueur (or other bright green melon Liqueur)
- 20ml Freshly Squeeze Lime Juice
- Ice
- Bowl of Salt
Recipe
Step 1 - In a shaker, pour ice, tequila, the melon liqueur and lime juice. Shake until chilled.
Step 2 - With a wedge of lime, rub the rim of a Margarita glass (or other glass). Place the glass upside down into the bowl of salt to have the salt stick to the glass. Using coloured salt can make this a truly festive drink!
Step 3 [Optional] - If you have edible spooky gummies, you can pop this at the bottom of the glass as a sweet treat for finishing the drink!
Step 4 - Strain the contents of the shaker into the glass. Add a wedge/wheel of lime to the edge of the glass and serve!
Witches Brew
The Witches Brew is a dark purple drink that you’ll find makes its way into most Halloween menus. It’s simple, sweet and looks amazing for a darker Halloween aesthetic.
Ingredients (Four cocktails)
- 20g Caster Sugar (optional)
- 50g frozen mixed berries
- 200ml vodka
- 100ml raspberry liqueur
- 50ml blue curaçao
- 100ml lemon juice
- Ice
- Edible glitter/sugar (to garnish)
- 4 cocktail cherries (to garnish)
Recipe
Step 1 - Pour 60ml of water and the caster sugar into a sauce pan. If you’re choosing not to use sugar, then use 75ml of water. Add in the berries and over medium heat cook for about 3-4 minutes. The berries should have been defrosted by now and the liquid should be bubbling. Switch off the heat, allowing the fruit base (what you have just made) to cool. Once cooled, strain into a jug.
Step 2 - In a cocktail shaker, add in the vodka, raspberry liqueur, blue curaçao, lemon juice, the fruit base and a handful of ice. Shake until the shaker chills.
Step 3 - Double strain into four glasses. If you have edible glitter, sprinkle this into the drink and stir. Garnish with the cocktail cherry (if available) – Serve and enjoy!
Pumpkin Spiced Old Fashioned
It wouldn’t be Halloween without a pumpkin-based cocktail! This spin on the classic old fashioned brightens up the drink slightly whilst letting it retain most of its classic features. Simply speaking, it’s just a sweeter and brighter version of an Old Fashioned.
Ingredients (Per Cocktail)
- 15ml Pumpkin Syrup
- Orange Bitters (enough for 2 drops)
- An orange wedge
- 60ml Bourbon
- Cinnamon Stick (to garnish)
- Club Soda (optional)
Recipe
Step 1 - Muddle the pumpkin syrup, two drops of orange bitters, and orange wedge into an old fashioned glass.
Step 2 - Add the bourbon into the glass with a large ice cube. If you don’t have singular large ice cubs, feel free to use several cubes.
Halloween Punch
Halloween Punch is great especially in a party setting. You can make a bunch of it at one go and your party-guests can pour some up themselves when they feel like it! There’s many ways to make a Halloween punch, but the general idea is to have something red! This recipe is enough for 12 glasses!
Ingredients (12 glasses worth)
- 1L Cherry Juice
- Orange Peels from about 3 Oranges
- Small Red Chilli
- 3x Cinnamon Sticks
- 10x Cloves
- 6 Slices of ginger
- 200ml Vodka
- Spooky Garnish Decoration of your choice (preferably edible to prevent injury!)
Recipe
Step 1 - Pierce the Chilli a few times (leaving it hole). Place the Cherry Juice, Orange Peel, Chilli, Cinnamon sticks, clove and ginger all into a large saucepan. Simmer for 5 minutes and then allow to cool.
Step 2 - Once cooled, place in fridge for between 4 hours to 2 days. The longer you leave it in the fridge, the more intense the flavours. It’s recommended to remove the chilli after a couple hours if you don’t want it to be too spicy.
Step 3 - Once removed from the fridge, all 200ml of vodka and stir.
Step 4 - Pour from a saucepan into a jug, ready to serve!
